Greetings from Sir Richard Branson’s new house and private retreat in the pristine British Virgin Islands: Necker Island. The remote island, which is synonymous with utmost luxury, provides a setting for an unparalleled seaside retreat with an emphasis on sustainability.

After more than two years of recuperation from the devastating effects of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, Necker Island has reopened and is now better than ever, with a special emphasis on sustainability. The new Necker Island has returned to the top of travelers’ bucket lists with its unparalleled luxury guest suites, breathtaking views, and ultimate exclusivity.

With a brand-new Great House and Bali Lo Complex, guests can enjoy a whole new Necker experience. Eleven guest rooms were added to the Great House when it was renovated. Every large room in the Great House has a king-sized bed, an en suite bathroom, and a balcony that promotes the enticing panoramic views of the Caribbean. A bunk room that can accommodate up to six kids makes the Great House’s amenities family-friendly. The Bali Lo Complex is a two-story Balinese home with a bedroom on the first floor and a lounge on the ground floor. This complex, as well as the nearby Bali Buah and Bali Kukila, were constructed in true Balinese style and could accommodate a couple. Additionally, there is the independent Leha Lo, which is tucked away high above the cliffs with expansive 180-degree views of the sea and just a short stroll from the Great House.

For some visitors, just being alone in their accommodation and taking in the breathtaking views may be enough to make them happy. But Necker Island has much more to offer than just a nice location in the Caribbean. There are countless activities available at this resort, making for an exciting time. Activities include yoga, tennis, sailing, scuba diving, massage services, and more. Off-site excursions can be planned for a full or half-day expedition for those who are more daring.

Necker Island is more than just an opulent vacation spot with breathtaking views and a plethora of things to do. The island has a fresh dedication to sustainability after reopening. The island can now function on 90% renewable energy every day thanks to the installation of 1,232 solar panels and three wind turbines.

In keeping with Sir Richard Branson’s charitable endeavors throughout the Virgin Limited Edition range, Necker Island is a part of the Pack for a Purpose campaign, which invites travelers to pack a little extra room in their bags so they may donate goods to underprivileged schools or medical facilities. With Necker Island’s help, local schools have grown exponentially, giving pupils access to greater space and resources.

Necker is normally only available for buyout visits, but for some weeks of the year, the island is open for “Celebration Weeks,” when visitors can rent a single room for seven nights.

Although Necker Island has long been the jewel in the British Virgin Islands’ crown, Moskito Island, a new island, will shortly be unveiled. Moskito, which is located on a 125-acre private island only two miles from sister island Necker, will offer visitors luxurious private estates on a stunning Caribbean island that goes far beyond traditional villa rentals.

There will be ten distinct opulent properties on the island. The 11-bedroom Branson Estate, which recently went up for rent, is a prime example of the pillar of excellence. This year, more estates will go up for rent, each with its own unique design. The estates are accompanied by a shared entertainment area where visitors can enjoy a variety of activities centered around the Beach House, tennis pavilion, dining pavilions, watersports center, and infinity pool and bar. Manchioneel Beach, which is located on the other side of the island from the Branson Estate, offers visitors lounge-style cabanas, a private eating space, and amazing waves.

Strict safety measures put in place by the BVI government have kept the number of COVID-19 cases in the British Virgin Islands at an all-time low. The employees at the two establishments have undergone fresh COVID-19 training, are well-versed in government regulations, and make sure to stay ahead of the curve in order to prioritize the security of both their employees and visitors.
